Here is how to book an apartment.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Reservation &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Send me an email with your choice of apartment and dates. I will reply to your inquiry the same day, usually within the hour, except when I am travelling.&lt;br /&gt;I get many requests every week for only a few apartments so, if the apartment is available, book it fast.&lt;br /&gt;Give me your &lt;u&gt;name, address and fax number&lt;/u&gt;. I will provide you with a short-term rental agreement.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span  lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:Arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;30 percent of the rent has to be sent in advance.&lt;br /&gt;The balance of the rent will be paid ten days before your arrival. The reservation is confirmed once you have returned the signed contract, along with the down payment.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Security Deposit&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;The Security deposit is given upon your arrival at the apartment. The security deposit is, of course, returned to you at the end of your stay, provided there are no damages and the apartment is left in a clean condition.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Up to one week rental:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt; the security deposit is 30 percent of the rent. Heat is created in plants that produces water vapour that crosses town. To avoid drastic changes in temperature, we have a small (hot water/vapour) interchangeable system in the basement. It creates hot water for heaters and hot water for the taps.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;The heat is:&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;- 49 percent incinerated from household refuse.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;- 27 percent biofueled. These can be recuperated during combustion. Biofuels are also recuperated during the fermentation of mud after cleaning water. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;- The remaining are fossil energies 17 percent coal and only seven percent are fuel oil derivatives.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Have a look a the process, I find it pretty interesting. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.cpcu.fr/animation/index.html"&gt;http://www.cpcu.fr/animation/index.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;This process also crates a small amount of electricity that runs the plant. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;st1:stockticker&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;AIR&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/st1:stockticker&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt; CONDITIONING&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;All windows are installed with large shutters that will protect the apartment from the sun and keep it cool during the day. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;On extremely hot days we will provide air conditioning-units. We decided not to install fixed units but smaller portable units that are more eco friendly. &lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;      &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;I prefer using the model that works with an ice box. It works with a blue cooler type ice pack, that you put in the freezer during the day when you are out. When you need to use it, air is blown on the cooler that can freshen a 300 square foot room. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;LIGHTING&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;Eco friendly light bulbs still produce a very unpleasant light. For your comfort we have not changed the bulbs. We hope you will help us save energy by turning the lights off when you are out of the rooms.&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;HOUSEHOLD REFUSE / TRASH. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;We separate trash in our building. There are three containers. Glass, paper and general household refuse.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;PAINT&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;During the renovations of the flats I took care in using natural materials and paint that did not contain solvents or chemicals that were harmful to the ozone layer. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;TRANSPORTATION&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="" lang="EN-GB"&gt;I would be more than glad to give you hints and tips on public transportation and the new Paris Velib’ system.
